Into the Void by TK769 Into the Void by TK769
This piece was one of the first to be submitted into The Rising Star competition for this year. I refrained from entering the piece because I felt the other works submitted were narratively stronger.

The title speaks for itself and we see an array of ships embarking on a voyage into the inky blackness of space. I gave just a hint of a star feild and nebulae, and painted the planet in to contrast the solemn blackness of space.

if you look to the centre of the picture there is just a hint of a ship off into the void.

Cool, your imagination definitely is not a cage animal. Moar comm dishes for the win! :) I wonder what the design on the planets surface is all about....

For a competition eh, just curious, at what resolution do you usually paint at?

The background again is open to interpretation. But I wanted the surface to be active with some sort of man made activity, but not to be too detailed as to detract from the forground. I paint at the industry standards 300dpi.

Boy you have been busy looking at my work.

Thank you my Friend.

Right, nice to know. Yep, I swoop in once in awhile and try to comment on ppl's work, since work gobbles up most of my time these days.

I'm just a bartender at a large casino in the mtns. of Colorado, definitely not my ultimate career path but it affords me a decent income in lackluster economy, which was a hard struggle for too long.

You live in a beautiful part of the world. I live just outside London...boring!

Mmm, beautiful and rugged it certainly is. Ha, been to London, amazing history and culture, but I can imagine anything grows boring being around it since birth. That and the downsides of living in any dense urban enviro, I find the space & nature of the outdoors calms my thinking.

Most effective use of the "void" visual element in contrast to the technologically rich borders.
