Magiza's Bistro by TK769 Magiza's Bistro by TK769
Inspired by one of Pete Amachree pieces (see my favourites) I thought I would come up with my own neon noir setting.

An oposite to Edward Hoppers style of looking in from the outside. Although I never had Nighthawks in mind at the time of creating this piece. Like many of us I just love neon and how the light plays within that enviroment.

The idea was to fill the cafe with unusual type characters, some obscure. I liked the fact that in films like Bladerunner certain background characters were obscure but interesting and I wanted to capture that with this piece.

Why the name Magiza's, when I was coming up with a neon sign outside the window I randomly typed out a word which spelt Magiza and I kind of liked the word, it had a certain ring to the patron who ran the bar, so I just stuck with that name, reversed it to give the impression it was facing outwards in the street.

Hey thank you Pete. I look back on this now and seeing how I've developed over a year or two. I would like to explore that neon noir, seedy look further.

Regards my friend.
